Chum Huau, also known as Cham Huau or Silky Mau, is a fairy of the Mi Ferario race from Byston Well. She acts as a steadfast companion and emotional anchor to protagonist Shō Zama, offering unwavering support and fiercely defending him against enemies throughout the conflict. Her sensitivity allows her to detect emotional undercurrents like fear and tension within the group, exemplified by sensing the apprehension of Bel Al and El Fino during the final battle.

She accompanies Shō and the resistance forces in their campaigns against Drake Luft's armies, maintaining her loyalty as the war intensifies and shifts to Upper Earth. Beyond direct involvement, her narrative role frames the story through recurring introductory narration, later revealed as her recounting of events. Chum Huau survives the conclusive battle's mutual annihilation of nearly all major characters, becoming the sole survivor.

Found unconscious and floating in the ocean after the conflict, she recovers and shares the story of Byston Well. Shortly afterward, she vanishes under unexplained circumstances and is never seen again, leaving her ultimate fate ambiguous. Her character serves as a link to Byston Well's mythological roots, with the name "Silky Mau" reflecting folkloric inspirations similar to selkie legends.
