Description
Simbad was born in Tison Village, Parthevia Empire, to parents Badr and Esra. His birth triggered natural disasters and significant Rukh fluctuations, alerting powerful figures like Yunan and Arba. As a child, he demonstrated exceptional perception and manipulation of fate, navigating his father through a storm at age three. At five, he witnessed villagers attack his father and later met Darius, a wounded spy posing as a merchant. Darius's tales ignited Simbad's curiosity, though the man later took him hostage, leading to Badr's intervention and death. This event deeply affected Simbad.
At fourteen, encountering the wanderer Yunan after escaping Parthevia's attempted conscription, Simbad was directed to conquer Baal's dungeon. Inside, he allied with Dragul (later Drakon) and defeated Baal, becoming a King Vessel. He emerged with treasure but returned home to find his mother dying; her final words expressed pride. This loss marked a turning point, fueling his resolve to change the world. He used his wealth to aid his village, purchasing boats for Contastia Harbor's citizens and earning Parthevian renown.
Simbad established the Sindria Trading Company and founded the Kingdom of Sindria, recruiting the Eight Generals—trusted companions like Drakon, Ja'far, and Masrur. His leadership provided refuge for outcasts, including former slaves and refugees. However, his idealism eroded. During a critical conflict, he absorbed his citizens' black Rukh to save Sindria, resulting in a half-fallen state that allowed him to wield both white and black Rukh at great personal cost. This event mirrored Alibaba's later struggles with Cassim in Balbadd.
His personality combined charisma, strategic manipulation, and moral complexity. Superficially selfless, he aided starving Balbadd citizens and sheltered allies like Alibaba and Aladdin, but his actions often served larger goals like battling Al-Thamen. He flirted indiscriminately, particularly when drunk, and manipulated figures like Kougyoku Ren, using Zepar's power to spy through her. Simbad acknowledged his growing slyness to Ja'far, lamenting becoming someone he "never wanted to be." His arrogance stemmed from foreseeing destiny, leading him to view others—even his generals—as inferior.
Simbad's history with Al-Thamen and Judar was adversarial. Judar manipulated Serendine Parthevia into tricking Simbad, indirectly causing Parthevia's destruction. Simbad killed Al-Thamen members without remorse and crushed their doll forms. Later, David Jehoahaz Abraham resonated with the black Rukh within him, though Simbad denied being David's reincarnation. His journey culminated in roles as World Innovator and Head of the International Alliance, where his grand vision for global change often clashed with ethical compromises.
In his youth, Simbad endured enslavement by Umm Madaura after a failed business negotiation forced him into a gladiatorial wager. Captured and tortured, he was psychologically broken until his release. This experience, alongside earlier traumas, contributed to his jaded worldview. Despite his descent into moral ambiguity, he retained core traits: a commitment to critical thought, encouraging Aladdin and Morgiana to think independently, and a drive to create a world free of "abnormalities" like Al-Thamen.
