Description
Astral, Prince of the Shadow Tribe and heir to King Wortoshika, possesses a heritage shrouded in deception. His true parents are Pollux Sr., a legendary Light Tribe swordsman, and Maria Sr. Wortoshika murdered Pollux Sr., kidnapped the infant Astral, and raised him as his own within the Shadow Realm, deliberately concealing his origins. This hidden lineage positions Astral as a figure bridging both warring tribes.

Characterized as honorable yet perversely inclined, Astral displays a generic good nature coupled with obliviousness to social nuances and consequences. This manifests in sexually aggressive behavior, including the rape of Maria, a Light Tribe prisoner, after mistaking her anatomy for a wound. He later severed the arm of her father, Fabris. In retaliation, Maria blasted him with a magical spell, exiling him to the surface world and propelling him twenty years into the future.

Physically, Astral has short hair, depicted as brown in the anime and blue in other media. He typically wears a long red cape, a long-sleeved white shirt, and blue pants, often accessorized with armor or a scarf. His appearance sometimes includes green eyes and a yellow shirt beneath the cape.

As a swordsman, Astral relies solely on combat skills, gaining experience progressively. He seeks recognition as a Swordsman of Shadow, partly driven by a desire for respect from his betrothed, Sharon, a formidable Shadow Tribe general. Their arranged marriage evolves into genuine affection after Astral rescues Sharon from rape by King Fabris and demonstrates his growing prowess. His relationships extend to Nina, a catgirl administrator who illegally aids him in obtaining a swordsman license, and Mew, a supporter in the Shadow Realm. These interactions create an unwanted harem dynamic, resulting in Nina bearing his daughter, Ariadne.

The revelation of Astral's true parentage intertwines with Wortoshika's motive to unite the tribes through a child of mixed lineage. Astral's exile and return catalyze his confrontation with this destiny, embodied by Ariadne, whose existence fulfills the prophecy of bridging Light and Shadow. His development involves grappling with past actions, such as the rape of Maria and its repercussions, as he evolves from a naive prince into a central figure ending the century-long tribal war.
