Description
Astral, also known as Pollux, is the central protagonist. Introduced as Prince of the Tribe of Shadow and adoptive son of King Wortoshika, his true origins are later revealed: he is the biological son of the legendary Light Tribe swordsman Pollux and Maria. Wortoshika murdered his father and kidnapped him as an infant, raising him within the Shadow Tribe to fulfill a prophecy about ending the tribal war.

His personality blends honorable intentions with deep moral flaws. He shows valor protecting allies and confronting threats, rescuing his fiancée Sharon from King Fabris and avenging his friend Hyde's death. However, he commits pervasive sexual misconduct, including raping Maria, a Light Tribe prisoner, while she protested and was restrained, mistakenly believing she consented. This act gains disturbing implications later when Maria is revealed to potentially be his biological sister. His perverse tendencies extend elsewhere, such as initiating sex with the catgirl Nina after she helps him illegally obtain a Swordsman Seal, a license Wortoshika denied him to keep him from the war.

Astral experiences a 20-year temporal displacement caused by Maria's retaliatory use of her Mystral Window ability, resulting in amnesia. Returning, he discovers the consequences: Nina bore his daughter Ariadne, and Mew (another companion) might be his child with Maria. This positions him in the prophecy, as Ariadne's mixed Light and Shadow heritage holds the key to uniting the tribes. His arranged engagement to Sharon evolves into mutual affection after he proves his reliability and strength, though his interactions with Sharon, Nina, and Mew create an unwanted harem dynamic.

The revelation of Wortoshika's motives adds complexity. Wortoshika's kidnapping and strict oversight aimed to position Astral for the prophecy, including a forced union with Sharon to produce a child of dual ancestry. When Astral disappeared, Wortoshika raped the Light Tribe's Rita to sire such a child, ultimately leading to his death. Astral reconciles these truths while accepting his role in the prophecy through Ariadne.

In combat, he relies solely on swordsmanship without supernatural abilities, evolving from an undisciplined fighter into a capable leader. His journey concludes with participation in the final battle against the ancient entities Tessio and Menza, securing the tribes' unification.
