Description
Kyousuke Date exists across two linked anime series with distinct narrative approaches. In *The SoulTaker*, he begins as Kyosuke Tokisaka, a 17-year-old who awakens mutant abilities after a fatal stabbing by his adoptive mother, Mio Date. This triggers his transformation into the winged entity "The SoulTaker." Driven to find his long-lost fraternal twin sister, Runa Tokisaka, he evades pursuit by the Kirihara Corporation and mutant doctors/nurses from the Hospital, led by his biological father, Richard Vincent. Kyosuke uncovers his fabricated past as a product of Beta Applicon virus experimentation. His abilities include telepathic communication with Runa and her fragmented manifestations, the Flickers. Nurse mutant Komugi Nakahara betrays the Hospital to aid him, motivated by romantic feelings.

The parody spinoff *Nurse Witch Komugi* reimagines him within a comedic magical-girl framework. Retaining the name Kyousuke Date and age 17, he works as a famous actor and pop singer under talent agency June’s, managed by Richard Vincent. His public persona projects a cool, heroic image in films; he performs sentimental pop songs popular with young women. Despite celebrity status, he remains approachable and unarrogant. His relationship with Komugi Nakahara shifts: she is a cosplay idol at rival agency Kiri Pro, harboring an unrequited romantic crush. Kyousuke perceives their interactions as professional camaraderie, oblivious to her feelings.

His familial connection to Runa persists in *Nurse Witch Komugi*, though reinterpreted: Runa is a child star at Kiri Pro, their sibling dynamic presented without *The SoulTaker*'s tragic backstory or supernatural elements. This version omits references to his mutant origins or SoulTaker transformation. The parody deliberately subverts his original serious, determined personality into a conventional idol figure, aligning with its comedic tone.
