Description
Rollpanna, also called Black Rollpanna, is Melonpanna's older sister by designation despite being chronologically younger, created by Uncle Jam at Melonpanna's request for friendship. Her creation involved Melonpanna mixing pollen from the rare "Flower of Pure Heart" with her melon juice into dough, intended to produce a purely heroic figure embodying selflessness, bravery, and kindness. Baikinman's interference, adding Bacteria Grass, resulted in Rollpanna possessing two conflicting hearts: a red heart symbolizing justice and goodness, and a blue heart representing evil and hatred. These hearts trigger involuntarily—the evil heart activates upon seeing or hearing Anpanman, while the good heart activates upon seeing Melonpanna.

Her appearance features a distinctive white turban-like head wrap marked with a red "R," covering most of her face except for a curly lock of dark brown hair, revealing turquoise blue eyes. She wears a black outfit with a bright cyan cape, white belt, gloves, and shoes. Two hearts are visible on her chest—a red heart for love on the left and a blue heart for hatred on the right; the red heart glows when happy. Her true face remains unseen, depicted only from behind when unmasked. Rollpanna wields a gymnastics ribbon to ensnare enemies or generate tornadoes, possesses superhuman flight surpassing characters like Anpanman in speed, and can hear Melonpanna's calls for help regardless of distance.

Due to her unstable dual nature, Rollpanna isolates herself in the mountains to prevent unintentional harm. She emerges only when summoned by Melonpanna or when Baikinman forcibly triggers her evil heart, consistently returning to solitude after Baikinman's defeats. Her personality is predominantly quiet, cautious, and reserved; she rarely speaks or shows emotion openly but demonstrates deep care for Melonpanna and a fondness for flowers and animals, intervening to assist others despite her reclusive tendencies.

Exposure to sufficient Bacteria Grass or intense activation of her blue heart transforms her into Black Rollpanna. In this state, her turban becomes grayish-black, her belt, gloves, and shoes turn black, her eyes shift from blue to red, and the blue heart glows brightly. Black Rollpanna exhibits heightened aggression focused on defeating Anpanman, gaining abilities to electrocute opponents or turn them to stone. Reversion typically occurs through contact with Melonpanna's voice or melon juice, as Bacteria Grass effects are temporary. Extreme scenarios override this: In episode 654, Dr. Hiyari's experiment split her into two separate entities—one purely good and one purely evil. The evil half, retaining only the blue heart, became a destructive "Complete Black Rollpanna" devoid of memories or empathy, attacking allies and ignoring Baikinman's commands. Similarly, in the movie *Roll To Laura, Ukigumojou no Himitsu*, excessive Bacteria Grass exposure fully suppressed her red heart, turning her into a more potent Black Rollpanna variant marked by a "B" on her turban and a distinctive evil laugh.

Rollpanna's relationships are complex. Melonpanna is her closest bond, capable of calming her evil transformations and eliciting protective instincts. Creampanda is her adoptive younger brother, though their connection is less emphasized. Anpanman is an unintentional enemy due to her triggered hostility, yet he regards her as an ally, avoids blaming her, and their relationship improves over time, especially noted in 2006 and 2018 movies. Among other heroes, Currypanman and Shokupanman share mutual respect with her; interactions like escaping an avalanche with Currypanman or Shokupanman calming her during a rainstorm highlight tentative friendships. Baikinman, responsible for her corruption, is both enemy and manipulator; she resents him but is occasionally coerced into aiding his schemes. Dokinchan is tolerated, with Rollpanna following her claims about Melonpanna's endangerment despite distrust.

Trivia notes include her inspiration from *Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde* and otokoyaku actresses, fan views of her as a tragic heroine due to lack of control over evil actions, and her designation as Melonpanna's older sister based on maturity and height despite being chronologically younger.
