Takei Sukekubo attends Imazuru High School and is a founding member of its three-person baseball club, serving as the team's primary source of physical strength alongside Hiroaki Morita and Akiko Ifukube. His loyalty, gentle nature, and occasional gullibility lead him to frequently follow Morita's impulsive schemes while maintaining their close best-friend bond. Recruited by math teacher Toshiyuki Roberi into the Prefectural Earth Defense Force against the Telephone Pole Group—motivated by a special security budget—he dons a track-suit uniform.

Sukekubo specializes in physical combat and operational support for Morita’s plans, though he intermittently voices doubts about their viability. During missions, he infiltrates enemy strongholds like the Telephone Pole Group’s lumber yard disguised as a businessman, though this results in repeated captures. He endures being boiled for soup stock and sealed in a concrete milk box dumped into a canal, escaping through brute force or opportunistic actions. His calm resilience contrasts Morita’s rashness, and despite lacking strategic initiative, he remains a consistently reliable combatant throughout the Defense Force’s engagements.
