Description
Fukiko Ichinomiya, known as "Miya-sama," is the illegitimate daughter of Mr. Ichinomiya and his mistress, the maid Ms. Asaka. The Ichinomiya family takes her in, with Mrs. Ichinomiya raising her. On her adoptive mother's deathbed, Fukiko learns her true parentage and discovers her younger half-sister, Rei Asaka, sharing the same parents. This revelation instills deep insecurities about her social status.

At age 11, following Ms. Asaka's death, Rei moves into the household. Fukiko encounters Rei crying in the garden after being humiliatingly seated in a low-status position at a birthday party. She makes Rei vow secrecy, instantly regaining composure when a maid approaches. This display of elegance captivates Rei, sparking lifelong devotion. A year later, aged 12, Fukiko meets Takehiko Henmi, her brother Takashi's university friend, visiting their villa. She becomes deeply infatuated, spending days listening to him recite Shakespeare's Sonnet 18. He promises to attend her upcoming birthday party, where she plans a violin performance. When he fails to appear, she is heartbroken and never plays violin publicly again. She preserves her room exactly as during his visit, symbolizing her fixation. This rejection leads to a suicide attempt by drowning, which she abandons, weeping on a pier.

The following winter, still distraught over Takehiko's betrayal, Fukiko attempts a double suicide with Rei. She takes Rei to a snowy beach, shares a parable about destroying her own glass figures to prevent others from breaking them, and slits Rei's wrist. Rei loses consciousness, but Fukiko immediately regrets her actions and seeks help. After Rei recovers, Fukiko gives her a bracelet to conceal the scar, framing it as a promise to complete their suicide pact someday. Rei later moves into her own apartment, financed by the Ichinomiyas, and Fukiko gifts her a doll ("cherie la poupee") to symbolize perpetual surveillance.

As a third-year high school student at Seiran Academy, Fukiko leads the Sorority and serves as Student Council President. Publicly, she embodies elegance and dignity, with a tall, slender physique, green eyes, and distinctive golden ringlet curls often accessorized with a headband. She wears long, flowing skirts and feminine blouses featuring square necklines, bows, or floral patterns, projecting refined grace. Privately, she exhibits cruelty and manipulation, particularly toward Rei. She engineers situations causing Rei psychological and physical harm, like forcing her to wait overnight under an elm tree in inclement weather, resulting in severe illness. Fukiko later performs concern during Rei's recovery, illustrating a cycle of abuse followed by performative comfort. She employs similar tactics with Nanako Misonoo, alternating cutting remarks and laughter framed as jokes to foster dependency.

Fukiko strategically engineers rivalry and jealousy within the Sorority, believing competition breeds strength. She sponsors Nanako's entry due to ulterior motives: unaware Takehiko is Nanako's half-brother, she aims to manipulate Nanako into loving her to sabotage Nanako's relationship with Takehiko. This plan includes psychologically intense interactions, such as a near-drowning incident disguised as a moonlit swim. Her actions contribute to the Sorority's dissolution following Rei's death, rendering her schemes futile.
