TV-Series
Description
Dr. Leo Shishioh served as Chief Scientist of the Gutsy Geoid Guard, spearheading development of all G-Stone technologies. He was husband to Kizuna Shishioh and father to Guy Shishioh. Following a near-fatal 2003 space mission collision for Guy involving the extraterrestrial object EI-01, Leo employed advanced technology from the mechanical lion Galeon in a desperate measure. He transformed Guy into a cyborg using an experimental body powered by a G-Stone mechanical heart, a procedure requiring Guy's legal declaration of death.
Despite his age, Leo maintained an unconventional demeanor within GGG, frequently navigating the Main Order Room on jet-powered roller skates. This eccentricity extended to combat, such as executing the "Reo Lariat" attack against his brother Liger using the skates. His commitment saw him directly enter the field, notably piloting LinerGao manually during Final Fusion to form GaoGaiGar against EI-15.
Leo demonstrated profound personal investment in his son's role, permitting Guy to fight only at Guy's explicit request. The emotional weight of this decision surfaced when Leo later revealed Guy's survival to Mikoto Utsugi, a revelation made at Guy's gravesite.
During GGG's final battle against the 31 Machine Primevals in Jupiter's orbit, Leo piloted the Assault Reconnaissance Cutter Murakumo. The heavily damaged Murakumo fell into Jupiter's gravity well. Leo perished in the incident, but his spirit merged with "The Power"—a cosmic energy generated by Jupiter. Within the planet, he spiritually reunited with his wife Kizuna, who had met a similar fate. Together, they channeled vast reserves of The Power to aid the Mobile Unit in destroying the remaining Primevals.
A photograph of Leo and Kizuna with Jupiter in the background, seen during GaoGaiGar FINAL, suggests his continued spiritual existence within the planet.
