Ai Amami is the adoptive mother of Mamoru Amami. In 1997, she and her husband Isamu Amami found an infant delivered by the mechanical lion Galeon near the North Pole. They named the child Mamoru, meaning "to protect," and raised him as their own son on Earth without knowledge of his extraterrestrial origins or latent abilities. They stored the pendant left by Galeon with Mamoru, not knowing its purpose. Ai Amami provided a civilian family life for Mamoru during his childhood prior to his involvement with GGG.
