TV-Series
Description
Created approximately one to two years before Jetter Mars by Dr. Kawashimo, Miri is a robot who shares this creator with Mars, making them half-siblings. Her name, written with the characters 美理 (beauty and reason/logic), reflects aspects of her nature. Physically resembling a young girl, she displays a mature and responsible demeanor, contrasting with Mars' more childish personality and positioning her as a stabilizing influence who manages his impulsive actions. This maturity exists despite her intended mental age being that of a teenager.

Her design features a distinctive sleeveless collared jacket worn over a long-sleeved shirt with cuffed wrists and uniquely shaped hair. Depictions sometimes show color inconsistencies, particularly her boots shifting between pink and dark green. She possesses a pet messenger pigeon named Kuru.

Miri exhibits athletic capabilities and a specialized restorative ability focused on repairing broken objects or machinery, especially excelling in metal welding. However, she demonstrates reluctance to use this power unless absolutely necessary. Her personality is characterized as kind, compassionate, and polite, driven by a strong ethical compass to help those in distress. She deeply respects Dr. Kawashimo, viewing him as a father rather than merely her creator. This capacity for genuine emotional bonds extends significantly to Mars, whom she guides in understanding human emotions, morality, and right versus wrong.

Her narrative role involves critical interventions. She rescues Mars from a counterfeit robot gang intending to dismantle him for parts after he ran away, confronting danger directly to ensure his safety. Later, she attempts to protect Mars' adopted robotic puppy, Otouto, when gangsters threaten to detonate a bomb inside it, though this effort ultimately fails. These events significantly contribute to Mars' emotional development concerning loss and trust.

Beyond the primary series, Miri makes a fleeting appearance in the 1999 special "Mighty Atom: The Blue Knight Chapter" within a crowd scene, featuring a minor redesign that includes a belt and altered hair details without the original ball-shaped tips. This marks her sole confirmed appearance in extended media. Her name varies internationally, appearing as Milly, Mili, or Lolly.
