Description
Hiroto Majima attends Umi no Hoshi Elementary in class 4-3 alongside Sasami Kawai and Misao Amano. Renowned for his athleticism, he actively participates in sports like soccer and dodgeball, always wearing a nasal strip during activities. This skill makes him one of the class's top players, though he sometimes errs, like a failed "Magic Ball" technique against class 4-2. Kenji Oyamada is his closest friend; the pair are inseparable and were the first civilians to witness Pretty Sammy training at school, sparking rumors among classmates about the magical girl.
Konoha Haida relentlessly pursues Hiroto romantically, doting on him and trying to win his affection, much to his visible annoyance as he actively avoids her. Her crush began in second grade when Hiroto chased off a bear with his soccer ball, an incident he doesn't recall. Instead, Hiroto develops a slight crush on Misao Amano. He voluntarily helps her, assisting with her fear of vaulting the gym box and shielding her in dodgeball, later noticing her increased confidence. Konoha reacts with jealousy and cruelty towards Misao.
Discovering Sasami's lost magical baton, Konoha transforms into "Funky Connie." Using the baton's magic, she manipulates Hiroto's feelings, causing him to show affection for Connie. Hiroto doesn't recognize Connie as Konoha and remains oblivious to her true identity under the spell. The magic fails to make him love Konoha herself, leading her to abandon the baton. When Misao's identity as the antagonistic Pixy Misa is revealed, Hiroto is deeply shocked. He rushes home for money to follow her to the moon, driven by concern. Konoha confronts him, criticizing his pursuit of a girl who may not return his feelings. Despite his distress, Hiroto does not resent Misao, suspecting coercion.
By the series' conclusion, Hiroto and Konoha begin a relationship, noted by Kenji calling them "lovebirds," a development confirmed in the manga adaptation where they officially date.
