His first interaction with Tsubomi occurs when she collides with him while rushing late from school to work, triggering a sexual encounter. This act implants his "seed" upon her "secret shrine," unlocking her transformation abilities. He secretly operates as Dandy Lion, a masked ally to Papillon Rose who distracts foes by hurling semen projectiles instead of roses. Dandy Lion possesses no innate magic, being explicitly Hikaru in cosplay rather than a supernatural identity.

As Tsubomi’s lover and adviser, Hikaru also engages in sexual relationships with other women to awaken their Papillon Soldier powers, cementing his Casanova persona. His connection with the talking cat Rama includes an interspecies romantic component, highlighted by an off-screen oral sex incident.

Hikaru dies before the events of *Papillon Rose: The New Season*. His demise introduces his previously unknown twin brother, Hibiki, who adopts the Torakage identity—a non-magical, masked ninja protector aiding the Papillon team. Despite physical similarities causing initial confusion, Torakage clarifies he is Hibiki and that Hikaru is deceased. Like Dandy Lion, Torakage lacks transformations or special abilities. He later expends his remaining energy through an unspecified intimate act to heal an injured Papillon Rose, resulting in his death.

Unproduced finale film concepts (*Papillon Rose G*) proposed resurrecting Hikaru following the death of his replacement, Razy Minowa. This storyline remained unrealized in animation.
