Description
Yuko Kurita launches her career as a 22-year-old recruit in Tozai News' cultural department, immediately assigned to assist cynical, lazy culinary journalist Shiro Yamaoka on the ambitious "Ultimate Menu" project – crafting an ideal collection representing Japanese cuisine. Though initially clashing with Yamaoka's attitude, her role demands close collaboration on recipe research, development, and documentation. She joins colleagues Noriko Hanamura and Kinue Tabata as the "Culture Department Flower Trio," a nickname highlighting their workplace prominence.

Her responsibilities quickly expand beyond assistance to active culinary investigation. During research on longevity foods, she proposes traveling to Okinawa to study regional ingredients and dietary habits linked to exceptional life expectancy. This investigation involves assessing threats like development projects endangering Okinawa's vital "Emerald Seas" coral reefs. Her work frequently requires conflict resolution, notably mediating tensions between Yamaoka and department leadership during high-stakes events like the "Salmon Match" culinary competition.

Personally, her dynamic with Yamaoka evolves from frustration to romance. She develops feelings over time, playfully challenging his negativity, culminating in their marriage. They later have two children, Yoji and Yumi. Yuko transitions from novice employee to confident partner in both the Ultimate Menu project and Yamaoka's life, balancing professional culinary research with raising their family.
