TV-Series
Description
Hikaru Tezuka is a main supporting character who begins as a corporal and rises to sergeant in the Library Task Force, serving on Team Dojo with Iku Kasahara. Born into an affluent, influential family, his background grants him intelligence and diverse skills. He joined the Library Defense Force driven by a love for books and a desire to work alongside his father and brother; however, family discord later shifted this motivation.

Tezuka possesses a blunt, serious, and highly competent personality, initially clashing with Kasahara over his perceived superiority. He rarely smiles, though Asako Shibazaki has witnessed him laugh, and he offers subtle smiles when praised by Atsushi Dojo. His proficiency spans academic lectures, clerical work, and combat, leading to his simultaneous drafting into the elite Task Force with Kasahara. Early on, he openly doubted Kasahara's capabilities and readiness, deeming her below operational standards.

Family conflict profoundly shapes him. His brother, Satoshi Tezuka, leads the "Future for the Libraries" organization, opposing the Library Defense Force's principles. This ideological clash, particularly between Satoshi and their father, caused Satoshi to leave home and contributed to their mother's health decline. Consequently, Hikaru views his brother as a traitor, harboring deep resentment despite past admiration, which fuels his staunch loyalty to the Library Defense Force mission.

His development centers on evolving relationships. While initially critical of Kasahara, he gradually acknowledges her dedication and improvement, fostering mutual respect and ultimately becoming one of her closest allies within the Task Force. His competence is consistently demonstrated in critical operations, including defending the Musashino Library against Media Betterment Committee agents and assisting in retrieving confiscated materials, as well as securing the Nobeyama museum documents during a censorship force attack.

Personally, he expresses romantic interest in Kasahara, asking her to be his girlfriend. Kasahara does not immediately accept and later declines his proposal after realizing her feelings for Dojo. No subsequent romantic developments involving Tezuka are documented. His role remains focused on protecting intellectual freedom alongside his comrades within the Library Defense Force.
