Description
Apos exists eternally as the primary antagonist pursuing Rin Asougi and Mimi across decades. This hermaphroditic entity, blending angelic and immortal traits, self-proclaims as a "god". Its unique biology confers agelessness and sets it apart from other beings connected to Yggdrasil, the tree of life.

Offspring of Tajimamori, the former Guardian of Yggdrasil, Apos covets permanent control over the tree, rejecting the intended cycle of guardianship. This ambition necessitates sacrificing Rin to Yggdrasil, driven by Apos's desire to consume her accumulated memories and Time Fruit—a source of immortality. Apos deliberately prolongs suffering for immortals, believing agony enhances the flavor of their Time Fruits, leading to the imprisonment and torture of multiple female immortals, often involving bondage and physical violation.

Operating indirectly across time, Apos employs proxies like the assassin Laura to target Rin and destabilize her existence. It manipulates broader conflicts, including inciting a nuclear disaster to provoke war between humans and immortals. Key abilities include the instantaneous extraction of Time Fruits from immortals and angels—a lethal power contrasting the physical excavation typically required to kill such beings.

Apos exhibits a detached, sadistic personality devoid of human morality, deriving pleasure from psychological torment. Tactics include framing Rin for murders or transforming Rin’s lovers into angels to force confrontations. Ritualistic behaviors involve playing chess with captive immortals and inflicting pain during these games. The fixation on Rin culminates in her kidnapping and confinement near Yggdrasil to accelerate the harvest of her Time Fruit.

In the final confrontation, Apos reveals Tajimamori’s paternal relationship and role in Rin’s past, then kills Tajimamori shortly after Tajimamori impregnates Rin. Apos is subsequently imprisoned within Yggdrasil’s roots, thwarting its ambition for eternal guardianship. Rin’s unborn child is prophesied to become the tree’s new guardian.
