Description
Zhuge Kongming originates as the historical Chinese strategist and statesman Zhuge Liang (courtesy name Kongming), Chancellor of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. He died of illness in 234 AD at the Battle of Wuzhang Plains, wishing for reincarnation into a peaceful era free from warfare.

This wish resulted in his rebirth as a younger version of himself in modern-day Tokyo, specifically during a Halloween costume party in Shibuya. Initially disoriented and mistaking the chaotic scene for the afterlife, he encountered aspiring singer Eiko Tsukimi at the BB Lounge nightclub. Deeply moved by her performance, he pledged his strategic expertise to help her achieve musical stardom.

Physically, Kongming retains his historical appearance: he wears a light green paofu robe with dark green trimmings, a wide belt, and a Jinxian Guan headpiece. He carries the crane feather fan gifted by his wife, Lady Huang. His long hair, tied up according to Confucian traditions, reaches his waist.

Kongming exhibits exceptional intelligence, adaptability, and charisma. Despite being a temporal outsider, he quickly mastered modern technology, social media, and contemporary culture through independent research. He became fluent in Japanese and English instantaneously upon arrival. His legendary strategic acumen, historically amplified in folklore like *Romance of the Three Kingdoms*, translates effectively to managing Eiko’s career; he employs ancient military tactics—deception, psychological manipulation, and elaborate gambits—to navigate the music industry.

Key personality traits include curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to peaceful endeavors. Haunted by past life regrets—particularly the loss of comrades and his failure to unite China—he seeks redemption by fostering joy through music. Learning of Shu Han’s ultimate downfall caused a brief emotional collapse; Eiko’s singing helped him recover, reinforcing his resolve to support her. He values honesty and emotional connection, stemming partly from past wartime communication failures that led to fatal consequences.

Across all adaptations, Kongming’s core relationships remain consistent. Eiko Tsukimi serves as his "liege," with his strategies centered on elevating her career. He mentors rapper Kabetaijin (Taijin Kawabe), helping him overcome performance anxiety through a passion-reigniting rap battle. BB Lounge owner Kobayashi, a Three Kingdoms enthusiast, provides employment and becomes a trusted ally. Kongming also navigates professional rivalries with figures like producer Toshihito Karasawa and manipulative artist Keiji Maezono.

His character development involves transitioning from a wartime strategist to a cultural tactician. Major arcs demonstrating this evolution include the "100,000 Likes" campaign, which utilized viral marketing and psychological tactics reminiscent of historical troop mobilizations; the Kyoto Shopping District Festival, where he adapted battlefield tactics to a musical turf war, aiding Eiko in reconciling with her estranged mother; and the Summer Sonia music festival, involving countering corporate sabotage and unethical competition, culminating in a victory affirming Eiko’s artistic integrity.

Kongming’s reverence for his wife endures; he cherishes her fan as a memento. His interactions blend ancient wisdom with modern contexts, interpreting rap battles as poetic duels or using social media algorithms as "terrain advantages."
