Description
Kanna Bismarch, born October 26, 1977, is a German shaman from the distinguished Bismarch family. Her childhood isolation stemmed from uncontrolled ectoplasm production, causing her to vomit spiritual energy visible even to non-shamans. Confined to her castle, her parents consulted numerous failed exorcists and clerics. Following her parents' mysterious accidental deaths, greedy relatives and lawyers seized her inheritance, leaving her destitute. Asakura Hao intervened, burning the castle and occupants, and recruited her. This cemented her fierce loyalty to Hao and profound disdain for humanity, including self-admitted hatred of children.

Typically calm and reserved, Kanna displays a thoughtful demeanor but possesses a notably short temper and limited patience, especially with perceived incompetence. Though frequently angered, she consciously moderates her reactions out of loyalty to teammates Marion Phauna and Matilda Matisse. She acts as a protective older sister figure within the trio, maintaining a mature dynamic with Marion and tolerating Matilda's antics despite frequent annoyance. Kanna struggles with a significant cigarette addiction. While her spirit ally Ashcroft mitigates severe health consequences like cancer, she suffers withdrawal symptoms—aggression, headaches, and coughing fits—and relies on cigarettes as a medium for her spiritual powers.

Her abilities include Spirit Perception, enabling interaction with spirits beyond normal human capacity, and Spirit Channeling for physical spirit manifestation. Her signature technique channels her guardian ghost Ashcroft, a medieval knight loyal to the Bismarch family, using cigarette smoke as the medium. Ashcroft wields a lance, excels in speed and strength, and employs techniques like "Burst Joust," piercing opponents before expanding smoke within them. Kanna's ectoplasm can visibly restrain objects and spirits, even for non-shamans. Her furyoku is 7,500; Ashcroft's reiyoku is 770.

Leading Team "Hana-Gumi" with Marion and Matilda in the Shaman Fight tournament, Kanna competed fiercely for Hao. They battled opponents like Team "T-Production" and confronted Tao Jun and Tamao Tamamura to retrieve stolen souls. In a pivotal match, Ashcroft critically injured Lee Pyron before Mikihisa Asakura intervened, dismantling Ashcroft and chastising her smoking. Kanna and her team were later killed by Peyote Diaz during the Patch Village invasion but resurrected by Lady Sati. This prompted their defection to Yoh's side to oppose Hao's remaining followers.

Post-conflict, Kanna attended high school with Marion and Matilda. By 2012, they worked as waitresses at Funbari Onsen, where Kanna's smoking habit drew frequent reprimands from manager Tamao. Known as the "Hana-Gumi Waitresses," they often skipped work, leading to disciplinary threats. Kanna remained involved in later conflicts, lending her motorcycle to Alumi Numbirch and participating in efforts against threats like Asakura Luca and Yohane. She assisted Johann Faust VIII in medical treatment for Tao Men using Soul Integration. Lingering loyalty to Hao surfaced when she reacted negatively to criticisms against him.
