Description
Fei Wang Reed stands as the overarching antagonist throughout the Tsubasa narrative, prominently featured in the Tokyo Revelations OVAs. He is a direct descendant of Clow Reed, yet exists as an artificial being born from Clow's wish to resurrect the Dimensional Witch Yūko Ichihara. This origin drives his core objective: accomplishing the impossible resurrection of the dead, specifically Yūko, and thereby surpassing Clow Reed's magical legacy.
He engineers the scattering of Princess Sakura's memory feathers across dimensions, not for possession, but to force her body to travel extensively. This imprints dimensional "body memories" onto her, a critical element for his resurrection ritual. The feather left by Clone Sakura in Tokyo/Clow Country's original timeline, combined with the real Sakura's existence, become essential components for his plan.
His methods involve extensive manipulation of spacetime and individuals. He imprisoned the real Syaoran during Sakura's purification ceremony in Clow's original timeline, subsequently creating clones of both Syaoran and Sakura. He imbued the Syaoran clone with half of the real Syaoran's heart—sealed within its right eye—and dispatched it to gather the feathers. Kimihiro Watanuki's existence indirectly stems from Fei Wang granting the real Syaoran's wish to turn back time.
Within the Tokyo Revelations OVAs, his influence becomes overt. He observes the group's arrival in the acid rain-scarred Tokyo dimension. When the seal on the clone Syaoran's right eye breaks, Fei Wang seizes this vulnerability. The loss of the heart transforms the clone into an emotionless instrument under his direct command, leading it to consume Fai's eye for magic power and abandon the group through a portal Fei Wang opens. His cruelty manifests in the murder of his assistant Xing Huo for aiding the real Syaoran's escape, echoing his earlier killing of Kurogane's mother.
Fei Wang operates from a concealed temporal pocket within the original Clow Country timeline, wielding vast magical abilities including dimensional travel, life creation (clones), and immense destructive power. He perceives Yūko and Clow as meddlers for interfering with his plans, such as redirecting the group towards Shura Country.
His ultimate plan converges in Clow Country's future. He merges the power from Sakura's dimensional-imprinted body with the feather in Tokyo to collapse the fundamental laws prohibiting resurrection. This attempt fails due to a temporal paradox: the revived clones of Syaoran and Sakura become the real Syaoran's parents, creating an ontological loop Fei Wang neither anticipated nor controlled. Enraged by Yūko's true death and this failure, he moves to imprison the originals before being stabbed by the real Syaoran and finally killed by Kurogane.
