Description
Hans Reiheit, born March 13, 1970, in Vienna, Austria, joined the X-Laws organization, becoming their weapons keeper. His violent and aggressive conduct ultimately led to his exile, earning him the title "fallen angel." Prior to this, his insistence on participating in the Shaman Fight as the group's best combatant ignited a major conflict with Marco Lasso.
Reiheit possesses a tall frame, lean yet muscular, characterized by a wide forehead and long, smooth dark green hair often paired with a goatee. He typically wears a casual X-Laws uniform, dark gray military pants, and knee-length black boots, carrying a large Steyr AUG assault rifle holstered on his left hip.
Personality-wise, Reiheit exhibits a caring nature and enjoys socializing. He takes pride in his X-Laws affiliation and professes loyalty to Iron Maiden Jeanne's ideals, though he believes she "lost her splendor" by allying with perceived enemies, forfeiting her right to live. His inherent violent tendencies caused his expulsion. A significant shift occurred after his death and revival; he adopted a more positive outlook, leading him to propose to fellow X-Laws member Amano Teruko.
During the "Invading the Plants" arc, Reiheit and Teruko were hired by Oyamada Mansumi to protect ships during a naval assault, with payment contingent on the ships' survival. When Hao Asakura attacked, Reiheit defended the remaining vessel using his guardian ghost, the Fallen Angel Azazel, noted for its immense Reiryoku level of 470,000. He declared his adherence to Jeanne's ideals while condemning her alliance with Hao. After deploying his colossal Azazel Oversoul against Hao, it was instantly destroyed. The backlash from the Oversoul's collapse, coupled with his limited Furyoku, caused Reiheit's immediate death.
Revived alongside Hao's other casualties, Reiheit encountered Teruko on a beach. After Teruko expressed distress over lost financial rewards and compromised modesty, Reiheit unexpectedly proposed marriage. Despite Teruko's initial resistance, they reconciled and were later seen together, marking their relationship's start. Reiheit then participated in the final confrontation within the Great Spirit, using Azazel to launch Jeanne's Iron Maiden directly at Hao.
Following the Shaman Fight, Reiheit married Teruko. He attended the wedding of Jeanne Tao and Ren Tao alongside other former X-Laws members. The couple joined the X-Laws in their subsequent charitable work. When Jeanne died permanently during "Red Crimson," Reiheit, alongside John Denbat and Meene Montgrand, voluntarily guarded her grave. He later sought Marco Lasso in Mexico during the "Flower of Maize" storyline and the "Marcos" spin-off, aiming to enlist Marco's help in retrieving Jeanne's soul. Reiheit also joined Team Marcos for the Flower of Maize tournament, learning the "New Trance" technique with Azazel.
Reiheit's primary abilities revolve around shamanic techniques. He mastered "Hyōi Gattai," integrating spirits into his body to gain their knowledge, wisdom, and personality. His signature technique was the "Over Soul," placing Azazel into specific mediums like the Sword No-009 "Reihit Steyr" or a bullet to create powerful constructs. However, his low Furyoku severely restricted these abilities; he could only maintain the colossal Azazel Oversoul for three seconds. Destruction of his medium or the Oversoul itself would prevent further use of that specific construct and risked causing his death. His known weaknesses included his finite Furyoku pool, exhaustion upon its depletion, and vulnerability if his mediums were destroyed.
