Megumi Hayashida, universally known as Rindaman or Rinda, earned his nickname from the alternate reading "Rinda" for his surname Hayashida. He stood at an imposing height with auburn hair and a perpetually melancholic expression. As a senior at Suzuran All-Boys High School when Harumichi Bouya enrolled, he consistently wore a heavy military jacket over hoodies or t-shirts, paired with baggy slacks and combat boots. After graduation, he switched to a leather jacket over a simple tank top. Rumors claimed Rindaman spent much of his youth in juvenile detention for killing his father and brother. His close friend Genjirou Katsuragi revealed the truth: his biological father died of illness in his childhood. His mother remarried but died in a car accident, leaving him with his stepfather. Rindaman witnessed his stepbrother fatally stab their father; attempting to intervene, Rindaman accidentally killed his stepbrother. Before Suzuran, he attended Fujihara Middle School and defeated its leader, Okakura Chiei. Transferring to Ryuusen Middle School, he befriended Yoshidome Keiichi. Around this time, Makio Bitou from Housen High School, impressed by Rindaman's fighting skill, offered him meals, leading to near-daily lunches together and a bond forming. At Suzuran, Rindaman earned the epithet "Rindaman the Murderer" due to his undefeated fighting record and fearsome reputation, including stories of single-handedly defeating one hundred men in his first year. He remained a lone wolf, avoiding gang affiliations and showing no interest in conquering the school despite dominating juniors and seniors. Though frequently skipping classes, he displayed insightfulness when present. His combat style resembled kickboxing, using powerful fists and kicks to swiftly incapacitate opponents, backed by exceptional durability and resilience. Significant confrontations included repeated challenges from Takiya Genji, all resulting in Rindaman's victory. His most formidable opponent was transfer student Harumichi Bouya; Rindaman achieved one decisive victory and one draw—his only known non-outright win. Following graduation, which culminated in a final fight with Bouya, he bought a motorcycle and departed to travel across Japan. He later entered an unarmed martial arts tournament near Osaka. Rindaman embodied a strong, silent archetype. Introverted and soft-spoken, he preferred solitude, avoided crowds, and maintained only a few trusted friends like Katsuragi, remaining an outsider even among Suzuran's delinquents.
