Description
Hideto Bandou formed a close middle school friendship with Sugata Kazushi, leader of The Front of Armament (TFOA)'s second generation. Destined to lead TFOA's third generation, Sugata's death in a drunk-driving motorcycle accident devastated Bandou. Kunou Hideomi, former vice head, then seized control, corrupting the group. Disillusioned and denied leadership, Bandou removed TFOA's symbol from his jacket. To challenge Kunou and reclaim TFOA, Bandou transferred to Suzuran High School with allies Senda Naoki and Tatsuya Yamazaki, aiming to conquer the school, build a faction, and restore TFOA's ideals. As a freshman, he focused on this mission while deferring to senior conflicts like Serizawa Army versus GPS. He later aided GPS leader Genji Takiya in Suzuran's final battle against Serizawa, respecting Genji.
Suspended during his sophomore year after clashing with the Ebizuka Trio (Hiromi Kirishima, Makoto Sugihara, Toshiaki Honjō), Bandou planned to eliminate them upon return. Transfer student Harumichi Bouya interfered; after failing to recruit Bouya, Bandou lost a direct fight against him. As a senior, Bandou established the dominant Bandou-Ippa faction until Bouya allied with the Ebizuka Trio to overthrow him. Deeming Bandou an embarrassment, Kunou sent Mito Yasuyuki to attack; Bandou was overwhelmed by Mito's underlings and struck by a motorcycle ridden by Maki Seiji.
Bandou later reemerged during a Housen Academy conflict. He intervened to protect Hiromi Kirishima from Housen leader Machida Katsutoshi, seizing a knife and slashing Machida's face, exposing Housen's leaders as puppets of the Bitou brothers. In defiance, Bandou fought Tatsuya Bitou despite acknowledging inferior strength and lost. After graduating, Bandou pursued music, forming a band with former rival Hiromi Kirishima and Naraoka Tsuneyoshi. His combat victories include Shoji Tsutsumoto, Mito Yasuyuki, Katsura, Hiromi (via surprise), and a joint win with Hiromi against Machida, Kikuchi Toshinao, and Kunimoto Tadashi. Losses encompass fights against Bouya, Mito's faction (with Maki's intervention), and Tatsuya Bitou. In the *Crows Zero* film continuity, a prequel, Bandou appears as a TFOA member and Suzuran leader, aiding Takiya Genji's GPS against Serizawa Tamao after Genji proves his resolve during a hostage misunderstanding involving Luka, contrasting with his manga portrayal.
