This spirit remains intrinsically linked to its cherry tree. When the tree suffers damage in a fierce storm, its physical decline mirrors the forest's growing vulnerability. The Sakura tree spirit later intervenes directly to heal Bokuriko, a fellow forest spirit injured while protecting the woods – Bokuriko had impersonated an endangered eagle to deter dam construction crews.

The spirit's actions consistently affirm Miyori’s destiny as the forest’s protector. It reappears during pivotal moments, underscoring Miyori's responsibilities and the profound interdependence between her guardian role and the cherry tree's well-being.
