Shunki Sa, granddaughter of Grand Official Sa Enjun and Hyou Eiki, inherits the Hyou clan's distinctive light purple hair and blue eyes, bearing a striking resemblance to her grandmother in youth. Her parents were murdered in childhood by her cousin Sa Sakujun, a fact unknown to her. To shield Shunki from the Hyou clan's pursuit of her inherited supernatural abilities, Eiki sealed her capacity for speech. Consequently, she communicates primarily through writing.
As the direct descendant of the Sa clan's main line through Enjun, Shunki possesses a significant claim to family leadership, making her a target in internal power struggles, particularly from figures like her great-uncle Sa Chuushou. For her safety, she remains hidden under the protection of Shourin and Youshun, acting on Ro Ensei's orders.
Shunki exhibits courage and determination reminiscent of her grandmother. Despite her gentle demeanor and muteness, she displays daring actions, persistently expressing affection towards her cousin Sa Kokujun, sometimes guided by Eiki. Her supernatural ability, tied to the Hyou bloodline, allows her to command others through spoken words. This power proves pivotal when she aids Kou Shuurei in rescuing Kokujun during the Sa clan conflict.
Later, Hyou Riou and his son, representing Hyou Ruka, confront Eiki over concealing Shunki. When Eiki refuses their demands, Riou orchestrates Shunki's capture. Disguised as a fortune-teller, he exploits her request for advice on attracting Kokujun to hypnotize her. Though Eiki's power and Shuurei's intervention briefly disrupt the spell, Shunki succumbs to the Hyou clan's call three days later, entering a trance to seek Riou. Kokujun halts this by openly declaring his love, breaking the Hyou clan's control.
Following the resolution of the Sa clan turmoil, Kokujun assumes leadership. Shunki marries him shortly afterward, vowing to support him as his wife. Their relationship, rooted in childhood companionship, evolves into a foundational bond for both.
