Patron is an adult male calico cat, a rare trait in males. He shares Shinichi Sakurai's apartment. Originally a stray, Patron followed Shinichi home one day and was adopted. Shinichi named him "Patron" after the brand of beer he was drinking at the time. Patron wears a perpetually grumpy or stern expression, creating a striking contrast with his true nature. Despite this look, he is notably affectionate, sociable, and easygoing. He readily accepts attention and physical affection from humans, including Shinichi, Hana Uzaki, and other apartment visitors, actively seeking out head scratches and petting. He demonstrates curiosity about human food, showing a particular interest in milk. Patron engages in typical cat behaviors like napping in comfortable spots and playing with toys or objects such as crumpled paper.
