Description
Ekans serves as a member of Team Meanies, a rescue team comprised of Gengar, Medicham, and Ekans. The team's origins trace to Gengar attempting to steal job requests from Ekans at a bulletin board; Medicham intervened to protect Ekans during this encounter. The trio later met again while planning to steal from the Kecleon Shop. Mistaken for a rescue team by Wynaut and Wobbuffet, they completed the mission to avoid detection, leading to the official formation of Team Meanies.
During their mission to rescue Pikachu from Sinister Cave, Team Meanies bought all available items at the Kecleon Brothers' store. Confronting Team Go-Getters, Gengar commanded Ekans to attack, resulting in Ekans consuming most of the berries Team Go-Getters had gathered. Team Meanies then departed, mocking Team Go-Getters as unprofessional.
Later, Team Meanies attempted to battle the rampaging Skarmory but were defeated. Team Go-Getters discovered them injured and shared their last Oran Berry, splitting it into three pieces for Ekans, Medicham, and Gengar; Ekans accepted the offered piece.
After Gengar's redemption and the dissolution of Team Meanies, Medicham joined Team Charm. Ekans' subsequent fate remains unrecorded in known media.
