Description
Shingo Suwa, a 13-year-old orphan, pilots the Japanese Republic's Sxano-X mecha unit. He earned this role by winning a competitive video game tournament hosted by the military. The Sxano-X, powered by an unearthed stone head resembling a Greek deity, requires synchronized operation between a pilot and a designated translator. Shingo partners with 14-year-old Mana Kamishiro, whose ability to communicate with the stone head enables their control of the unit in combat.
Exposure to the Sxano-X's neural interface system has physiological consequences. Sustained connection causes glowing nerve cables to gradually integrate into the pilot's body, a process that affected the unit's first pilot and now manifests in Shingo during his service. The system also enables "Psy-Harmonization," allowing Shingo and Mana to involuntarily access the memories and experiences of other mecha pilots and translators during neural synchronization.
Shingo engages in combat under the "World's Wisest War" framework. His initial victory is against the Empire of North America's Jupiter-II. Subsequent battles include defeating Central China's Xuanwushan-III, after which its former pilots, Wen-Yee Lee and Chau-Yan Lee, become trainers for Shingo and Mana. Another significant engagement involves overcoming East European Russia's Eunova-VIII, where Shingo endures exposure to its primary weapon, "The Hundred Eyes of Argos." Shingo's operational effectiveness develops progressively through these experiences. The narrative trajectory indicates the ongoing physiological integration of Sxano-X's neural interfaces into his body.
