Description
Kasugano Urara, Cure Lemonade, attends L'École des Cinq Lumières Middle School as a first-year student. She is half-Japanese through her mother, the late famous actress Kasugano Maria, and half-French through her father. Her mother's legacy fuels Urara's own dream of becoming an actress. Before becoming a Pretty Cure, a demanding schedule and innate shyness hindered her ability to form friendships and express her true feelings.

Urara projects a cheerful, polite, and calm image, consistently using "-san" for others. Underneath this composed exterior, she occasionally drifts into daydreams and displays clumsiness. She shares Yumehara Nozomi's impulsive streak and passion for food, yet possesses greater self-assurance. She approaches her careers as an actress and singer with serious dedication, which can sometimes manifest as materialism. Nozomi's immediate friendship helps Urara become more open and relaxed socially.

Her journey as Cure Lemonade starts when she witnesses Nozomi and Rin transform. Facing the antagonist Gamao, she remembers Nozomi urging her to "be herself," prompting a yellow butterfly to grant her a Pinky Catch. This device enables her metamorphosis into Cure Lemonade, the "Pretty Cure of Effervescence," wielding powers of light. Her transformation call is "Pretty Cure Metamorphose!" As Cure Lemonade, her hair and eyes turn bright yellow, styled into conical buns with curled strands. Her unique costume is a frilly yellow dress adorned with butterfly motifs and gold accessories. Her attacks include "Lemonade Flash" (releasing fluttering energy butterflies), "Lemonade Shining" (using the Lemonade Castanet for a similar effect), and "Prism Chain" (creating butterfly chains to immobilize foes). She contributes to the team attacks "Five Explosion," "Rainbow Rose Explosion," and "Floral Explosion."

Urara develops by overcoming hesitation to pursue singing alongside acting. Inspired by Nozomi's belief that both careers "share dreams," she composes "Extraordinary! Door of Courage." Though failing an early audition, she perseveres in honing her skills. Her relationships deepen, particularly with the fairy Syrup, bonding over shared vulnerabilities, and her director Takigawa Mariko. Mariko's critical attitude initially shakes Urara's confidence until she recognizes it stems from respect for her talent.

In films and spin-offs, she achieves powered-up forms:
* "Super Cure Lemonade" (Yes! Pretty Cure 5 The Movie) grants enhanced abilities and butterfly wings.
* "Cure Rainbow Lemonade" (Pretty Cure All Stars DX 2) features a golden-winged design for the "Cure Rainbow" team.
As an adult (Power of Hope: Precure Full Bloom), she wears light vermillion glasses and styles her waist-length hair loosely or in twin tails, persisting in her acting career despite industry hurdles.

Her name reflects her themes: "Kasugano" (combining "spring," "sun/day," and "field/plain") connects to her light powers and spring associations. "Urara," written in hiragana, suggests "bright and beautiful."
