Description
Yoshirou Hamada grew up alongside Ren Mihashi in the neighborhood of Creaker Villa. He introduced Mihashi to baseball in their childhood, gifting him an old mitt that Mihashi treasured. Their early friendship helped Mihashi overcome initial social anxieties, though they lost contact after Hamada moved away.

Now a student at Nishiura High School, Hamada repeated a year due to poor attendance caused by complications from an affair with an already-taken woman. This placed him in the same class as Mihashi, Yuuichirou Tajima, and Kousuke Izumi. Although he played baseball with Mihashi as a child, Hamada no longer plays due to a chronic "Little League elbow" injury from excessive youth pitching. Financial constraints prevent rehabilitation, worsened by his father's job loss forcing a family move to Kyushu. Hamada works part-time to cover his tuition and expenses.

Instead of playing, Hamada founded and spearheads Nishiura's baseball cheering squad, the Ouendan. He designs and sews its banners and uniforms, often sourcing materials through his part-time job connections. From the stands, he coordinates cheers to boost team morale, demonstrating dedication to the baseball program despite his injury. Hamada maintains a cheerful, industrious personality, frequently sewing during school hours and balancing work with team support.

His relationships remain significant; Mihashi still uses the childhood nickname "Hama-chan." Hamada regularly interacts with Mihashi, Tajima, and Izumi during lunch. However, his dynamic with Izumi, who attended the same elementary and junior high school, is notably antagonistic, with Izumi showing no deference. Physically, Hamada has blonde shoulder-length hair, grey-green eyes, and stands 1.83 meters tall. He often wears his distinctive Ouendan uniform: a blue "10" t-shirt, red pants, and various headbands. His athletic background is evident in his ability to run 50 meters in under six seconds.

Hamada's development centers on adapting to adversity, finding alternative ways to contribute to baseball through leadership and craftsmanship despite personal and financial setbacks. His unwavering support highlights resilience and loyalty to his childhood friend and the sport.
