Description
Shinichi Kuruma is the son of Dr. Genzou Kuruma, leader of the secret society "12 Doctors" or "Apostles." His father conducted extreme experiments to clone and revive God, murdering Shinichi's loved ones, including his mother, leaving Shinichi driven by vengeance. Genzou transformed Shinichi into a "New Human" or "Demonic Beast" through genetic experimentation. This grants Shinichi the ability to summon and control beasts from within his body—a lion, an eagle, and a bear—alongside rapid healing, high durability, resistance to attacks, and the power to absorb others' abilities by consuming them.
Shinichi consumes the corpse of his deceased ally, Maria Tengai, the reincarnation of the Virgin Mary. This merges her bloodline with his, making him a vessel capable of reviving God. Maria occasionally manifests through Ayaka Sanders, a girl linked to Shinichi via stem cells from his blood that cured her heart condition, creating a psychic bond between them.
Shinichi travels with Ayaka and Tomisaburou "Tommy" Tengai, Maria's brother. Tommy possesses extrasensory abilities and acts as their human ally. Their journey involves evading and combating genetically altered "New Humans" created by the Apostles, including dinosaur, insect, marine, and rat-themed adversaries. Shinichi confronts these foes while protecting Ayaka, who becomes a target due to her connection.
His quest evolves from personal vengeance to preventing apocalyptic events orchestrated by his father. This includes confronting Noah, clones of God created from Shinichi's blood mixed with "Cells of God." These clones wield divine powers but suffer health instability due to impurities in the blood.
Shinichi's narrative spans the original manga, its sequel *Shinsetsu Majuu Sensen*, the 1990 OVA, and the 2003 TV series *Majuu Sensen: The Apocalypse* (also known as *Beast Fighter: The Apocalypse*). The TV series presents an alternate continuity to the sequel manga, depicting Shinichi's battles against powerful New Humans and his climactic efforts to thwart god-creation.
