Description
Cutthroat, alias Satsujinki, ranked among Kansai's most dangerous criminals with 999 confirmed murders before his arrest. This earned him an estimated 967-year prison sentence. A Kansai Police detective captured him by sacrificing his own life to set the trap. At the story's outset, Cutthroat awaited execution at an underground station.
His personality exhibited extreme duality: typically presenting a childlike, innocent demeanor, singing children's rhymes and frolicking carefree, yet capable of instantly switching to calm, brutal violence. He took sadistic pleasure in bloodshed, particularly fixated on the sight of blood, which he likened to a "blooming flower." The color red triggered uncontrollable murderous impulses. He became intensely obsessed with individuals he perceived as possessing a growing "red halo," interpreting its expansion as a sign of their escalating violence or resolve. This drove his actions toward the Swindler; he claimed to protect her while secretly awaiting the moment her halo peaked in magnificence to kill her.
Physically, he was a tall, pale man with white neck-length hair, purple eyes, and a mole below his left eye. He wore distinctive all-white attire: a long dress shirt under a knee-length overcoat and trousers, revealing black tights underneath. His left hand was bandaged. After the Execution Division Master severed his legs during a confrontation, the Doctor reattached them, leaving visible stitch marks.
During the execution rescue, he freed himself from a straitjacket. Following instructions from the Black Cat, who contacted him in prison, he placed explosive collars on the Akudama team. Upon release, he immediately beheaded the police chief, marking his 1,000th kill. In the Shinkansen raid, he assisted in breaching security barriers by throwing knives and later used the boy known as Brother as a human shield against the Execution Division Master, stabbing through the child without hesitation.
His obsession with the Swindler intensified as her "red halo" expanded. At Expo Park, he intercepted an attack meant for her but was forced to fight Executioners during an ambush orchestrated by the traitorous Doctor. In the final confrontation at Execution Department HQ, he massacred numerous Executioners, stacking their bodies into a "cake" for the Swindler. He then explicitly revealed his intent to kill her, citing the unparalleled beauty of her fully matured halo. The Swindler tricked him into a weapons storage room, stabbed him, and left him to bleed out.
Information regarding his activities or origins prior to his arrest remains absent, as does any official media beyond the core series providing additional backstory or development.
