Description
Tsubaki Tamashiro is a 17-year-old high school student serving as a shrine maiden at her family's temple. She lives there with her grandmother, Miwa Tamashiro (formerly Miwa Uzuki), the original Big Shooter pilot from fifty years prior. Miwa raised Kenji Kusanagi after his parents vanished, making Tsubaki and Kenji childhood friends who now share a class with Kyo Misumi.

Tsubaki works part-time at the Build Base defense organization. As co-pilot of the Big Shooter support aircraft alongside Kyo, her key responsibility involves deploying component parts to assemble the Jeeg mecha during combat. Her familial tie to Miwa places her within the legacy of the conflict against the Haniwa Empire, with Miwa personally overseeing her training and Build Base involvement.

Her dynamic with Kenji blends deep familiarity with recurring friction. She frequently chastises his impulsive behavior or perceived immaturity, often reacting physically to his teasing remarks about her appearance. Despite this, Tsubaki shows unwavering concern for his well-being and shares formative childhood memories, like attending festivals where they became separated yet later reunited. Moments where Kenji's actions fluster her reinforce a tsundere disposition, her underlying care contrasting with outwardly irritable responses.

During a Haniwa Phantom's dream-trapping attack, Tsubaki experiences vivid recollections: Miwa explaining Build Base's relocation to the Goto Islands to monitor the Zone surrounding Kyushu, and Kenji's parents entrusting him to Miwa's care before their disappearance. This deepens her understanding of their shared history. The ordeal culminates when she and Kenji heed Miwa's advice to "not lose sight of your goal," enabling their escape from the illusion.

Her development reflects growing resilience and commitment to Build Base's mission, balancing combat duties with school life. While her primary role centers on logistical support for Jeeg, her awareness of Kyo's secrets and encounters with autonomous entities like Balba signal her integration into the conflict's complexities.
