Description
Kenji Kusanagi, a 17-year-old high school student and professional Hyper Motor Bike racer for Team Shiba, charges into combat with reckless impulsivity, masking a protective streak toward childhood friend Tsubaki Tamashiro beneath a habit of teasing her. His fiery rivalry with teammate Kyo Misumi fuels intense motorcycle clashes, frequently interrupted by attacks from the Haniwa Phantom Gods—ancient foes resurrected by Queen Himika’s Great Jama Kingdom.

As pilot of the magnetic robot Kotetsushin Jeeg, Kenji transforms via the Raikoba, a motorcycle engineered by his father as part of the Jeeg Project. The bike merges with a Bronze Bell housing primal energy, becoming Jeeg’s head unit when Kenji slams his yellow-gloved fists together. Though his combat style prioritizes instinct, his physical endurance and capacity to harness electricity amplify Jeeg’s weaponry, including the Knuckle Bomber and Magnet Rope. Yet unchecked anger risks awakening malevolent spirits within the Bronze Bell, pushing him into destructive berserker states.

Kenji’s journey forces him to reckon with the legacy of Hiroshi Shiba, the original Jeeg pilot, and unravel Kyo’s secret lineage as a scion of Himika’s empire. Discovering his parents’ role in the Jeeg Project—particularly his father’s creation of the Raikoba—he allies with Hiroshi to wield dual Bronze Bells, destroying the fused entity Susanoh. Post-battle, tensions linger with Tsubaki, balancing mutual respect and unspoken friction. His voracious appetite, often showcased in post-fight feasts, underscores the relentless stamina fueling both his racing and battles against the Jama Kingdom. The 2007 series remains his sole documented media appearance.
