Description
Jun, designated G-3 and known as Jun the Swan, serves as the electronics and demolitions expert for the Science Ninja Team. Orphaned young, she never knew her parents of mixed Japanese and American heritage in the original continuity. One account states they died shortly after her birth, leaving her with an aunt who perished in war when Jun was about eight or nine. Fleeing fire-bombing to the Jupiter Mountains, she discovered and named a toddler, Jinpei. Both were placed in the Shirayuki Orphanage under UN care before coming under Dr. Nambu's guardianship when Jun turned thirteen. She raised Jinpei as her younger brother. They operate the Snack J café, serving as both their home and the team's base.

The 1994 OVA continuity retains her biracial heritage but alters it to include one parent from England, killed by nuclear terrorists. Assaulted in her early teens, she joined a motorcycle gang for protection and worked jobs including club owner, swimming instructor, model, and ballerina. This version portrays her as more withdrawn due to heavy youth trauma, leading her to avoid romantic relationships. Background notes for a cancelled Imagi film indicated she was orphaned by a tragic accident, lived alone, and worked as a bartender at a Utoland night club, with no mention of Jinpei.

Jun possesses a brave, independent, and easy-going personality, balanced by sensitivity and strong motherly instincts, especially toward Jinpei. She enjoys riding her motorcycle and maintains calm under pressure, strategizing during danger. Her combat expertise includes karate, aikido, and handling explosives; she also serves as the team's data analyst. Her signature weapon is a specialized yo-yo transmitting electricity to detonate like a bomb on impact or via timer, capable of outfitting attachable blades or suction cups. Her primary vehicle is the G-3 mecha, a high-performance motorcycle transforming into a hover-cycle capable of land travel (700 km/h max), water travel (200 km/h max), short-distance flight, and snowy terrain traversal. After episode 68 of the original series, it gained twin rocket launchers. The OVA redesigned it as a yellow-and-red futuristic Harley Davidson in civilian mode, featuring digital gauges and remote start; transformation via her G-Bracelet turns it into a monowheeled flying hovercycle.

Her appearance varies. The original series depicts her with dark green hair extending beyond her shoulders and curled ends, green eyes, typically wearing a red-and-navy "3" insignia t-shirt with pink-and-white striped bellbottom pants. Her Bird Style uniform is a pink sleeveless mini-dress, white elbow-length gloves, white over-the-knee boots, a white cape lined with red, and a swan-themed helmet with orange accents. The OVA redesign features a shorter brown bob cut, a taller, more physically developed stature, and a Bird Style with a pink-and-white split skirt and a modernized "G" emblem on the chest. Her civilian attire shifts to a pink midriff-baring top, green striped skirt, and a "3" necklace. Concept art for the Imagi film depicted uniform drafts like an armored pink-and-black dress with thigh-high boots or her OVA outfit, while civilian looks fluctuated between long dark brown hair and a bob cut, paired with jackets, camisoles, shorts, and boots.

Jun harbors unrequited romantic feelings for team leader Ken Washio (G-1), often showing concern for his well-being and frustration when he prioritizes missions. Jinpei frequently teases her about this. By *Gatchaman Fighter*, she actively prevents Ken's self-destructive battle behavior, with narrative acknowledgment of mutual feelings constrained by duty. Her bond with Jinpei involves typical sibling arguments despite deep care; she relies on him for cooking at Snack J due to her lack of culinary skill. A significant emotional arc involves her childhood friend Koji Yabane, who joined Galactor; after confirming his allegiance, she personally fired the Bird Missile destroying his mecha, recovering only his damaged helmet. Her interactions with Joe Asakura (G-2) include moments where his bluntness forces her mission focus, and later concern for his cybernetic state in *Gatchaman II*. She also reconnects with childhood friend Milly Seaski during the Seatoland conflict and is impersonated by Eva Douglas, who blamed the team for her father's death.
