Description
Rod Drill hails from the mechanical realm of Cronos as a Battle tribe member, embodying a happy-go-lucky personality and transforming into a drill-tank. Trained alongside Rom Stol and Blue Jet in the Tenkū Chūshin Ken martial art by Kirai Stol, he wields the "Tenkū Shin Ken" (Sky True Sword) combat style. His design reflects the Machine Robo MR-17 Drill Robo toy.
He joins Rom Stol's crusade against the Gyandlar, serving as a steadfast ally. His role includes episodic battles and missions, such as a search for Cross Rock where Amber Man captures him before Rom and Leina Stol secure his freedom. He operates alongside comrades like Triple Jim and Blue Jet, his lighthearted demeanor shaping group dynamics.
After crossing a dimensional barrier, Rod Drill undergoes a physical metamorphosis from robot to human, resulting in fragmented memories of his life on Cronos. In this new form, he reunites with Leina Haruka (formerly Leina Stol), Rom Stol, Blue Jet, and Triple Jim, all now human in a different reality. Despite memory alterations, his core background and relationships endure, preserving his connection to the group.
Across official media, his portrayal consistently emphasizes camaraderie and adaptability. His human incarnation remains reliable combat support, aligning with his original series role, though now without his prior mechanical abilities.
