OVA
Description
Elise von Barbaroque, daughter of the previous ruler of Magical Land, lost her birthright when Esmeralda Tanaka usurped the throne, installing Punie Tanaka as heir apparent. This fuels Elise's drive to reclaim her position through assassination attempts targeting Punie. She employs large, concealed holes as traps, a tactic that earned her the derisive nickname "Hole Digger Elise" from Punie, which she visibly resents.

Elise possesses black hair cut to neck length and brown eyes, often dressed in attire reflecting her noble status, including harlequin-style costumes during confrontations. Her combat style blends aristocratic poise with brutal practicality; she demonstrates significant unarmed skill, initially overpowering Punie before succumbing to Punie's submission techniques. Her arsenal features a collapsible scythe, the summoning of venomous snakes, and potent ice- and snow-based magic allowing her to freeze opponents, generate blizzards, and construct defensive barriers or weapons from ice.

Defeated decisively in OVA episode 3 after Punie subjected her to seven distinct submission holds, Elise transitions from antagonist to classmate in Punie's school, seated directly behind Tetsuko Koku. This integration into daily life contextualizes but does not diminish her vengeful ambitions. Despite her primary adversary role, she exhibits protective loyalty toward her younger sister Rau, defying her father's directives to safeguard her, a familial devotion contrasting with her ruthless pursuits.

Elise's development includes moments of reluctant cooperation, such as assisting Anego in carrying an injured Tetsuko, hinting at situational alliances beyond her core objectives. Her pride remains defining, manifesting in disdain for her "Hole Digger" moniker and displays of a noblewoman's laugh, though these are often undercut by Punie's mockery or tactical defeats.
