Description
Kiruru is an artificial Keronian planet-destroying weapon created by the Keron Army, designed to absorb negative emotions and conflicts for power. Its existence is a closely guarded Keron military secret, with historical records intentionally erased due to shame over its destructive capabilities.
Deployed on Earth in ancient times, Kiruru caused the extinction of the dinosaurs before the Keron Army sealed it within a shrine. This sealing required a specific crystalline container, utilizing a component called Mirara as both controller and resealing key. Centuries later, Keroro and Fuyuki Hinata accidentally shattered the container, releasing Kiruru and allowing Mirara to escape separately.
Upon release, Kiruru initiated an invasion by marking humans with red "X" symbols. These marks granted telepathic abilities ("Revocommi") but also transmitted negative thoughts among bearers, causing societal collapse as individuals absorbed each other's malice and despair. Kiruru harvested this emotional energy to grow stronger, progressing through forms: an initial humanoid form capable of flight and mark distribution; a giant combat form resistant to conventional weapons like missiles and energy blasts; and a final tower form that generated copies of itself and spread destructive plates across planetary surfaces, capable of reducing a planet to barren rock as demonstrated on Altea 7.
Kiruru was ultimately resealed when Keroro and Fuyuki inserted Mirara (in key form) into the tower's core. During this sealing process, Kiruru unknowingly replicated into three separate units. One unit remained fully contained, a second (designated X02) was destroyed by Meru and Maru in the Pacific Ocean, and the third evolved into Dark Keroro.
Variants of Kiruru appear: **Kiruru Dot (.)**, an incomplete prototype distinguished by a dot over its X mark that absorbs "hesitation" energy. It allied with the Keroro Platoon to defeat hostile **X-52 Units**, mass-produced Kiruru clones that corrupted characters like Natsumi, Tamama, and Dororo via X marks. The **X-55 Unit** is a liquid-metal variant designed for combat and logistics, capable of morphing arms into elongated blades and firing projectile barrages.
