Description
Quon led unethical brain chip experiments on children as head researcher at a VSS facility, overseeing procedures that frequently caused death or failure and witnessing systematic eliminations of unsuccessful subjects. Consumed by guilt, he betrayed VSS to rescue survivors including Toru Sōma, Lian, and Genha. Post-escape, Quon commanded the hacker collective Fei Dao from an underground base, breaching VSS security systems and executing lethal missions against their personnel.
He maintained ties with the rescued children, specifically providing Toru with suppressed memories of their abduction after getting lost near the facility. Quon disclosed that Toru and his sister Ren endured experiments, with Toru developing amnesia from a failed memory chip. He relayed Ren's alleged death during her procedure, though Toru later contested this after encountering her consciousness in "The Wired." Quon expressed remorse for his role and concern for the children's welfare, seeking redemption through Fei Dao. However, the group's morally ambiguous tactics—including alliances with violent operatives like Genha—complicated his resistance efforts.
