Description
Orchid-Hakase, a prominent Pokémon researcher, accepted an invitation to Dr. Yung's laboratory to witness a demonstration of the revolutionary Mirage System. Upon arrival, he joined Ash, Misty, and others, acknowledging Dr. Yung’s years of research culminating in this breakthrough. He identified the holographic creatures as "Mirage Pokémon" upon recognizing the Mirage Field technology, confirming the system’s completion.
During the demonstration, Orchid-Hakase observed the Mirage System generating Pokémon regardless of rarity or extinction. When a masked figure calling himself the Mirage Master hijacked the system, Orchid-Hakase was taken hostage. The Mirage Master demanded the password to Orchid-Hakase’s research database to create a Pokémon without weaknesses. Orchid-Hakase refused, warning that such artificial power would disrupt Pokémon’s natural balance.
After the Mirage Master subjected Pikachu to agonizing memory extraction, Orchid-Hakase yielded and provided the password "REDGREEN" to halt the torture. This compromise granted access to his database, enabling the download of extensive Pokémon research data. The breach propagated globally, affecting other research facilities and Pokémon Centers.
Orchid-Hakase later deduced the Mirage Master was Dr. Yung, seeking revenge for his expulsion from the research community over unethical Mirage System experiments. Confronting Dr. Yung’s Mirage Mewtwo, Orchid-Hakase sent his Dragonite to defend the group, though it was swiftly defeated. He urged the others to flee while he stayed behind.
Following Mirage Mewtwo’s defeat and the laboratory’s collapse, Orchid-Hakase was rescued unharmed. He departed with the other attendees once the crisis ended.
