Despite their competition, a genuine friendship blossoms between them. Mami provides steadfast support to Elis, especially when other club members grow envious of Elis's exceptional skills, and encourages her to persevere with club attendance. Aware of Elis's trauma-induced aversion to the color red, Mami later attempts to persuade her to reintroduce red into her artwork, believing it would enhance her paintings' beauty. Mami holds Hiroki Kamikura in high regard, deeply respecting his experience and painting expertise. She values his seasoned perspective, takes his advice seriously, and strives to meet his expectations through her own artistic efforts.
