Description
Amano Sakogami is the central protagonist, plagued since childhood by severe misfortune stemming from long-term possession by a Magatsugami – a monster feeding on negative emotions and causing bad luck. This manifests in frequent accidents like tripping, breaking belongings, or being struck by objects. She experiences a recurring dream of being attacked by a woman in a purple kimono and rescued by a boy, though the memory fades upon waking.

After encountering the Better Fortune Research Organization, the Magatsugami influencing her is defeated, significantly improving her luck, though inherent clumsiness remains. She recognizes the lone male club member, Kikunosuke Kagawa, as the boy from her dream. Seeking closeness to him, she requests to join the club but faces unanimous rejection from the female members. Undeterred, she proposes becoming the club's manager, an offer Kikunosuke accepts.

As manager, she supports the Happy Seven – seven girls wielding powers derived from the Shichifukujin (Seven Lucky Gods) – who combat Magatsugami and assist afflicted individuals. A key method involves guiding people to pray at a forest stone, which dispels the monsters. Memories of these events are typically erased to protect the club's secrecy, though this process proves ineffective for her.

Later, alongside childhood friends Nene Tokuda and Mimi Masuko, she gains the ability to transform into one of the Lucky Three – a trio of magical girls with powers analogous to the Happy Seven. Following these events, Nene and Mimi's memories are erased by Kikunosuke, though she retains hers.

Personality-wise, she exhibits persistent optimism despite adversity. Her initial romantic motivations for joining the club evolve into genuine dedication to its mission. She demonstrates resilience navigating repeated rejections and memory-related traumas affecting those close to her. Protective instincts emerge in her commitment to aiding others plagued by misfortune.

Her background centers on the lingering effects of Magatsugami possession. Character development includes increased confidence through club involvement, deeper bonds with members, and acceptance of her clumsiness as separate from external supernatural influences. The erased memories of her friends after their shared transformation mark a significant emotional challenge.
