Akuram leads the Oni Clan, marked by his long blonde hair and blue eyes, signs of demonic heritage. He inherits leadership through a ceremonial mask that channels his magic. After the mask shatters, he retreats, his power diminished. His driving goal is the domination of Kyou, fueled by vengeance against the humans who persecuted his clan across generations. To achieve this, he summons modern-day priestesses to harness their power. In the first arc, he summons Akane Motomiya, Priestess of the Dragon God, intending to exploit her abilities to subjugate Kyou. He possessively calls her "his" Miko and reacts furiously if subordinates harm her without consent. When plans involving Akane falter, he shifts focus to Morimura Ran, Priestess of the Black Dragon, using her to access the Black Dragon's power. This culminates in a confrontation where both Akuram and his subordinate Shirin are absorbed by the Black Dragon, hurtling them 100 years into the future. Displaced in time, he discovers his clan eradicated. Faced with a despairing populace praying for death, he orchestrates a new scheme: summoning the "Night Parade of One Hundred Demons," a colossal vengeful spirit, to fulfill their wishes. He manipulates key figures through deception. He advises priestess Chitose to create a barrier, claiming it protects the capital, while it actually amplifies suffering and dark energy. Simultaneously, he mentors Chitose's brother Misono in creating purification flowers, framing priestess Karin as a danger. He also manipulates the noble Kazuhito by lending him power, intending to provoke conflict that strengthens Karin's abilities. Periodically, he appears before Karin, offering ambiguous guidance while assessing her spiritual growth. His tactics involve pitting the priestesses against each other to accumulate energy for his final ritual, requiring priestess blood. His true intentions surface when he wounds Chitose to complete the ritual, merging with the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons. Though defeated, the vengeful spirit's residual energy triggers a catastrophic storm, ultimately dispelled by Karin summoning the deity Yinglong. This act erases his spirit. In optional romantic storylines, his interactions reveal complexities. With Akane, he displays a blend of manipulation and attachment: isolating her from allies, inviting her to witness the Oni Clan's suffering, and reacting intensely when she rejects him to protect her comrades. A later dream sequence shows vulnerability before their separation. With Karin, he maintains an enigmatic presence. Despite learning of his deceptions, she refuses to see him as an enemy. In their final encounter, he initially rejects her reconciliation but is moved by her unwavering compassion, sparing him from complete annihilation alongside the Night Parade. His character concludes with divergent fates: in the main narrative, his spirit dissipates after the Night Parade's defeat, while in Karin's optional route, he survives due to her intervention.
