Description
Sakurako Kintoki (Annie in English), a shy and quiet dessert shop owner visited by Momoko Akatsutsumi, Miyako Gotokuji, Kaoru Matsubara, and Miss Bellum, harbors romantic feelings for Souichirou, often leading to nervousness and self-doubt. Inspired by Miss Bellum, she experiments with lipstick to appear more attractive. Applying lipstick, even if only smeared, while exposed to Black Z-Rays triggers her transformation into the alter ego Sedusa. This effect reverses when the Black Z-Rays are neutralized, though retransformation remains possible with subsequent lipstick use.
As Sedusa, her appearance shifts dramatically: her skin turns ghostly white, her hair becomes black and snakelike with green highlights, and her eyes turn yellow. She wears a violet dress with a yellow corset, brown opera gloves, a red snake necklace, brown tights, and red heels. Sedusa embodies confidence, seductiveness, and a penchant for theft, targeting clothes, makeup, and jewelry. She masters disguise and voice imitation, frequently shapeshifting into figures like Bubbles or Buttercup. Her prehensile hair functions as whips or tentacles for combat, and she wields a hypnotic charm, especially effective on men. A key weakness is perfume scents, which can expose her disguises if inconsistent with the persona mimicked. Despite her villainous actions, Sedusa retains Sakurako's affection for Souichirou, though he rejects her Sedusa form.
Her initial transformation occurs when a store employee forcibly applies lipstick, leading to a crime spree. The Powerpuff Girls Z intervene, with Buttercup defeating her using the Piko Piko Hammer. Professor Utonium then reverts her to Sakurako using the Chemical Z Particle Ray. Following this, Souichirou confesses his feelings, and their relationship develops, though both remain initially shy. Sakurako later displays kindness, such as comforting a flower creature affected by black powder. The Sakurako-Sedusa duality creates ongoing tension; Souichirou explicitly states his love for Sakurako but not Sedusa during one encounter, causing Sedusa to faint from distress before reverting. Sakurako retains no memory of events during her Sedusa transformations but later exhibits signs of jealousy.
