Description
Him is a powerful demonic entity originating from Edo-period Japan, where he terrorized humans by creating monsters with his black particles. The Oedo Chaki Chaki Girls (Goodenough Girls in English dubs) defeated him by exploiting his vulnerability to cold. They sealed his main form within a coffin in a mountain mansion, while a portion of his power was contained in a trunk and discarded into the sea.

Centuries later, in 2006, this trunk caused a global climate crisis, forming a massive glacier near Tokyo City (New Townsville). Ken Kitazawa, son of Professor Utonium, destroyed the glacier using Chemical Z, a derivative of Chemical X. This released black and white Z-rays across the city. One black Z-ray struck Him's mountain prison, awakening him. Upon awakening, he released black dust particles that transformed people, animals, and objects into monsters, including recurring villains like Mojo Jojo.

His appearance in this incarnation differs; he resembles a harlequin with yellow skin, wearing a red jester's hat, a tunic with a heart-shaped brooch, and mismatched striped stockings (one black-and-white, the other red-and-black) with Mary Jane shoes. His mannerisms are effeminate, and his eyes shift from green to red when enraged. His true name is considered too terrifying to utter, referred to only as "Him" or "Kare" (Japanese for "he").

His abilities center on manipulating black particles as extensions of his power. He generates monsters by infecting targets, spies remotely, teleports, controls minds through hypnosis when his eyes glow red, and manipulates natural elements like wind. He can recall particles to revert transformations, though this fails on beings strongly attached to their dark aura, like Mojo Jojo or the Gangreen Gang. He can also use particles for time travel, sending victims to different historical periods.

His primary weakness is cold, which severely diminishes his power. Conversely, he draws strength from heat, like volcanic energy. White light, the antithesis of his black aura, also neutralizes his abilities.

Him orchestrates schemes to regain full power. After awakening, he stole a portion of the Powerpuff Girls Z's white energy to break his seal but was forced to retreat due to winter's cold. He later returned in spring, stole Chemical Z, and battled the girls directly, unintentionally teaching them how to counter his attacks. His final plan involved manipulating other monsters into surrendering their black Z-rays. With this accumulated power, he triggered Mount Fuji's eruption to destroy Tokyo City. In the battle, the Powerpuff Girls Z sacrificed their white energies to create a sealing beam that stripped him of power and consciousness, launching him into space. His powerless body was later used as a test subject by Mojo Jojo.

Despite his defeat, his legacy persists through monsters created by his black particles, which continue to menace Tokyo City.
