Description
Butch stands as the male counterpart to Buttercup within Mojo Jojo's creation, the Rowdyruff Boys, engineered specifically to antagonize the Powerpuff Girls. His genesis involved a deliberate twist on the Powerpuff formula: substituting Buttercup's "spice" with "snails," and combining it with underarm hair snips, a puppy dog tail, and polluted prison toilet water infused with Chemical X. This process intentionally mirrored the girls' origin while emphasizing traditionally masculine traits.

Physically, Butch originally possessed short black hair featuring a small rectangular cowlick at the back, pale skin, and green eyes. His attire included a brace with a neck strap, gloves, and black pants adorned with two green stripes. Following resurrection by HIM, his design evolved, replacing the cowlick with entirely upward-spiked hair.

Personality defines Butch as the Rowdyruff Boys' toughest, most destructive member. He exhibits a short temper, impulsiveness, and pronounced enthusiasm for combat and chaos, frequently acting without forethought. Described as hyperactive in fights and "cantankerous," he displays loyalty to brothers Brick and Boomer despite occasional insulting remarks. Unlike Buttercup, he shows no sense of regret or restraint. Post-resurrection, he demonstrates increased submission to Brick's leadership while retaining his core aggression.

Abilities position Butch as the trio's physical powerhouse, wielding standard Rowdyruff powers: flight, super strength, durability, and energy projection. His specific combat techniques include Kamehameha, Final Flash, Fire Masenko, Big Bang Attack, Kaioken (1-20 fold multiplier), Eye Beams, Destructive Inferno, and Wind Control. Collectively, the Rowdyruff Boys exceed the Powerpuff Girls in raw power but often lack strategic control. A significant development granted by HIM rendered them immune to the previously fatal "cootie effect" (kisses from the girls), instead allowing them to absorb affection to increase size and strength.

Key relationship dynamics shape his character:
- **Buttercup**: As his direct counterpart and primary rival, their interactions are marked by persistent conflict and competitive tension.
- **Brick and Boomer**: He maintains fraternal loyalty despite friction, showing increased deference to Brick's commands after resurrection.
- **Powerpuff Girls**: He shares the Rowdyruff Boys' collective animosity; fighting them constitutes their core purpose.
- **Brute and Mecha Shadow**: He engages in rivalries focused on proving superior strength.

Notable narrative developments include:
- Initial defeat via the Powerpuff Girls' kisses exploiting the "cootie" weakness.
- Resurrection by HIM and subsequent power augmentation via anti-cootie vaccination.
- Temporary size and strength increase when kissed during battle.
- Vulnerability to humiliation and embarrassment, causing shrinkage when his ego is bruised.
- Depiction as a teenager in "City of Clipsville," showing reduced aggression and mutual romantic tension with Buttercup alongside his brothers.
