TV-Series
Description
Cream embodies the Hare of the Chinese zodiac as an anthropomorphic rabbit spirit. Chosen as one of the twelve Eto Rangers guarding Mugen and its connected Novel Worlds, she earned her position by placing high in the decisive New Year's Day race.
As the Rabbit spirit, Cream displays a kind, compassionate, and generally gentle nature. She frequently provides emotional support for the team alongside Souffle, acting as a voice of reason. Despite her nice demeanor, she occasionally sparks with jealousy, particularly concerning Bakumaru, reflecting her romantic feelings for him; their relationship is mutually acknowledged as an official couple. Cream's white fur visually aligns with the mystical white hair trope signifying her magical nature.
In combat, Cream wields a magical carrot-shaped staff that serves as her transformation trinket. This staff allows her to change costumes or craft disguises for herself and teammates, sometimes resulting in Ms. Fanservice moments like transforming into a Playboy Bunny outfit. Classified as a Squishy Wizard, she contributes primarily through magic rather than physical prowess. Cream qualifies as an Action Survivor—avoiding frontline fighting but stepping in when necessary, though she exhibits visible fear during direct confrontations and prefers sneak attacks.
Within the team, Cream operates alongside Souffle and Urii in the fourth elemental trine and shares the Wood elemental affinity with Gaoh. Her place in the zodiac cycle corresponds to the 5 AM-7 AM time period and the spring season. Episode 16 ("The Mouse's Wedding") features her prominently: kidnapped by a Jyarei Monster disguised as a lizard warrior, her capture forces Bakumaru to intentionally lose a martial arts tournament to ensure her safety, showcasing their mutual care. After escaping, she helps expose the monster using the Revealing Mirror.
Across missions in all official media, Cream consistently fulfills her role as a magically supportive team member without significant power shifts. Her background remains unexplored beyond her Eto Ranger selection. Her elemental associations, romantic subplot with Bakumaru, and steadfast magical abilities define her contributions.
