Jyun, a young boy from an island community, seeks help after pirates kill his family. Braving the sea, he swims from his island home to the mainland, where he encounters travelers Munsu and Sando. He explains his plight, convincing them to return with him to his island.

Upon their arrival, village elders dismiss Jyun's claims, attributing them to shock over his family's death. They assert the responsible pirates have already been punished. Jyun's persistent insistence on the ongoing threat and his family's murder compels Munsu to initially involve himself on the island.

Jyun's presence and testimony drive Munsu to stay and probe the island's strange circumstances, particularly concerning a priest named Yuite who claims miraculous powers, including resurrecting the dead. This investigation ultimately uncovers the village's hidden secrets and the true nature of the supposed miracles.
