TV Special
Description
Zap appears solely in the One Piece TV special "Open Upon the Great Sea! A Father's Huge, HUGE Dream!" as a non-canon character. He holds the rank of second-in-command within the Bayan Pirates, serving directly under Captain Bayan.
He is a tall, bulky man sporting a square chin and long red hair. Zap wears a dark red captain's coat adorned with dark yellow shredded strings along the shoulders and hem, a helmet, and claw weapons on both hands. His outfit is completed by light gray pants and dark gray shoes.
Zap possesses an aggressive nature, prone to explosive rage when events defy his expectations, such as the escape of his captives. He also struggles to interpret non-verbal cues, entirely misunderstanding Bayan's indirect questions during their meeting.
In battle, Zap wields a sword and his claw weapons. His strength allows him to defeat his fellow crewmates, Bonney and Maccus, when they oppose him. However, the Straw Hat Pirates prove vastly superior, overpowering him.
During the special's events, Zap initially imprisons three children—Amanda, Milia, and Holy—onboard the pirate ship. After Bonney and Maccus facilitate the children's escape, Zap pursues them fiercely. He manages to capture Amanda and a sleeping-medication-incapacitated Luffy, delivering them to Bayan. Later, as he attempts to execute Bonney and Maccus, the Straw Hat Pirates intervene and defeat him.
