Description
Irmão Tomé, nicknamed Ding Dong, is a Franciscan friar residing in the monastery that raises the orphan Marcelino. As part of the collective group of monks, he shares responsibility for the child's upbringing, providing education, guidance, and affection within the monastic setting. The friars establish household rules—including prohibiting access to the attic—and enforce discipline when necessary.
Ding Dong witnesses Marcelino’s recurring disappearances and follows the boy alongside his fellow monks, uncovering Marcelino’s interactions with the attic crucifix. Actively participating in communal monastery life, he collaborates in safeguarding the child’s welfare. This vigilance culminates in Ding Dong joining the monks as they collectively observe the climactic attic miracle.
