Description
Reverendo Prayor, identified as the Padre Superior of the Franciscan monastery that raises Marcelino, holds leadership over the monastic community. As Father Superior, he bears primary responsibility for major decisions concerning the child abandoned at their doorstep. He oversees the infant Marcelino's care within the monastery when other arrangements fail, demonstrating protectiveness over the child's upbringing.

His leadership encompasses managing the monastery's affairs during the Napoleonic Wars era (1808-1814), a period when the monastery was rebuilt after wartime destruction. He maintains order and tradition, enforcing rules like the prohibition against Marcelino entering the attic.

When Marcelino's behavior changes, marked by disappearing food, the Padre Superior takes direct action. He organizes surveillance to uncover the reason for the child's secretive actions, resulting in the monks collectively witnessing Marcelino's interaction with the Christ figure in the attic.

Following the miraculous encounter and Marcelino's death, the Padre Superior presides over the child's burial within the monastery chapel. His acceptance of Marcelino's veneration signifies a shift from initial protectiveness to profound spiritual acknowledgment, transforming the monastery into a pilgrimage site under his guidance.

His role is defined by his position as spiritual leader, guardian, and witness to the central miracle.
